Amie Conquers the Florida Pro-Am

This weekend at the Florida Pro-Am of Grappling, 88 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu’s Amie Turton brought home two GOLD medals. In case you don’t know her, Amie is one of the top teen grapplers in the United States. She recently took SILVER at the Pan-American Championships and showed that her medal was no fluke with another dominating performance last weekend. Amie competed in the Adult Women’s Lightweight division (135 lbs and below) and won her two matches 6×0 and 6×2. She then entered the Women’s Blue Belt division (135 lbs and under) and dominated her opponents there, 10×0 and 6×0. What makes her performance more extraordinary is the fact that not only is she competing against grown women but she weighs in at almost 20 lbs less than the weight limit!
